FAQs

  • What styles of yoga do you teach?

I offer a variety of class styles:

VINYASA FLOW - a creative style of yoga characterized by a sequence of poses that are linked together through breath and movement

ROCKET - a dynamic practice that often includes a variety of arm balances and inversions, helping students build strength and confidence in these challenging poses.

YIN YOGA - a passive and floor based practice where postures are typically held between 3-5 minutes.

CHAIR YOGA - a gentle form of yoga that is practiced while seated in a chair or using the chair for support. It is particularly beneficial for individuals with limited mobility, seniors, or those who may find traditional yoga poses challenging.

CHILDRENS' YOGA - with my background in primary school teaching, I love leading these sessions through story telling and with props to allow children to discover the magic of body and breath awareness from as young as 5 years old.

Yes, yoga can help strengthen the muscles around an injured area which can support recovery and prevent further injury. We can modify poses to accommodate specific injuries or chronic conditions, making the practice accessible and safe.

  • What should I wear to a yoga class?

Anything that allows you to move your body comfortably and without restriction. No need for expensive activewear brands. Online students have been known to practice in their PJs!

  • What is a typical yoga class like?

Each class starts with a grounding meditation, to bring you into a more present state with greater body awareness. We follow this with pranayama (breath control) to tap into the parasympathetic nervous system. Classes then follow with specific movement designed to warm the body up, build strength and find length with both seated and standing postures and balances. Throughout the whole hour you will be guided to synchronise breath and movement in steady rhythm.
